Earth
Balloon®
Organizations that host Earth Balloon programs fund them in a wide
variety of ways:
-
Write grant requests to the educational
foundations in their communities or affiliated with their schools.
-
Hold community-wide fund-raisers and
include evening programs in the schedule for supporters and parents.
-
Parent-teacher organizations that dedicate
a portion of their fundraising money for this program.
-
Divide the cost of the program by the number of student participants and
handle it like a field trip (usually $2-3
per student).
-
Identify business partners in their community
who are concerned about environmental and science issues who help underwrite
all, or a portion, of the cost.
-
Collaborate with other organizations in their
community so that Earth Balloon facilitators are in a local community, but
visiting several schools throughout a week.
-
Partner with local Nature Centers, Horticultural
and Botanical Gardens
-
Smaller schools partner and
combine their student bodies,
sharing costs and facilities.
-
Invite home-schoolers in the area for a fee
to help underwrite the cost.
-
Some public organizations charge an admission
fee.
-
Combine these strategies.
